Grants are a type of financial aid do not need to be repaid, and are often need-based.
Federal Pell Grant is a federal grant that does not have to be repaid under normal circumstances and is awarded to eligible undergraduate students who have not previously earned a bachelor’s or professional degree.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) is for eligible undergraduate students with exceptional financial need with priority to Federal Pell Grant recipients. Students are awarded based on the availability of funding.
Federal Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)北京快3代理 is for undergraduate students enrolled in their first or second academic year in an eligible program who have completed a rigorous secondary school program of study and who have also at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA for the first academic year.
National SMART Grant for undergraduate students who are enrolled in the third or fourth academic year of an eligible program and pursuing a major with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA. The student does not need to have completed a rigorous secondary school program of study.
Federal TEACH Grant* (Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education) for students who agree to serve at least 4 years as a “highly qualified” teacher in high need fields in schools that serve students from low-income families. (*TEACH Grants become unsubsidized loans and must be repaid with interest if the student does not carry-out service obligations. Interest will accrue from the date of the initial TEACH Grant disbursement.) Note: UMA does not participate in the TEACH Grant program. It has been included for informational purposes only.
University Grants, UMA Bangor Grants Scholarships and Waivers are made possible through annual state appropriations and gifts from businesses and individuals. These types of aid usually carry certain restrictions and academic requirements. A variety of university scholarships are available to eligible students based upon specific qualifications.
State of Maine Grant Programs are awards made to qualified full-time and/or part-time students that are residents of the State of Maine who have applied for federal aid as of the Finance Authority of Maine’s (FAME) May 1st preferred application deadline.
