Orientation is an opportunity for students to get to know UMA and to prepare for a successful college experience.

    • learn about student support services and resources
    • become familiar with policies and procedures
    • acquire knowledge and entry-level proficiency in select academic and personal success skills
    • learn about what to expect at UMA and what UMA expects of you
    • know whom to contact to ask questions and express concerns

北京快3代理Orientation is for ALL students new to UMA, whether they are: returning adults, transfer students, or recent high school graduates; attending on campus or attending at centers, sites, or via technology; and, in degree programs or just taking a class.

Orientations are offered on-site at all of UMA’s locations, including both campuses and most UMA centers (, East Millinocket, , Houlton, Lewiston, ,? , and ), as well as in an online format.? Students are invited to experience all orientation options; however, they are expected to complete the online orientation format.? Be sure to click on the tabs listed above to access detailed information for each orientation.

In addition, specialized orientation programs for students in the architecture or nursing programs are offered. Students should contact?Eric Stark (621-3249 or eric.stark@maine.edu) for information on the architecture orientation and the Nursing Department (Vicki Loubier at 621-3297 or vloubier@maine.edu) for information on the nursing orientation. Those students taking a class online are encouraged to also view UMA Academic Logistics’ “Success in Online Learning” program.

北京快3代理Notification of upcoming on-site orientations is mailed approximately three weeks before classes start to all students new to UMA. Students should contact their nearest campus or center for additional information.? The Online New Student Orientation is available anytime.

While UMA offers on-site orientations and students are invited to experience all orientation options, students are expected to complete the UMA Online New Student Orientation (ONSO).北京快3代理? Of course family and friends of students are welcome to participate in any of the orientation options too, as we know how important their support is to a student’s success.

ONSO provides another flexible, convenient, and easily accessible way to participate in New Student Orientation, particularly for those living at a distance from a UMA facility, for those with scheduling conflicts, and for those who may want this comprehensive type of information before attending an on-site orientation.

In addition, some academic program online orientation modules are available.? These are designed to help students understand program requirements and how to successfully complete their degree program.
